WELCOME TO MY WEBSITE . . . and thank you for stopping by.

From early childhood my mother instilled in me the love of reading. By the time I reached my teens, I began fantasizing about writing a book, but I had no idea how to go about it. Was writing only for the gifted—those bestowed at conception with linguistic DNA?

In 1997, I underwent a major back surgery and was confined to three months of bedrest. Determined to stave off boredom, I ordered a dozen books and tapes from The American Christian Writer's Institute and devoted myself to studying the craft of writing. Following my recovery, I wrote my first magazine article, and several weeks later, to my deepest surprise, I received an acceptance letter with a check! I had become a published writer—not through magic, not through some innate talent, but through learning the rules of writing and self-editing.

That eye-opening experience taught me a life-changing lesson: publishable writing is not just for a gifted few, but is a craft that can be learned and perfected.  Since that fortuitous surgery, I have had the pleasure of exploring numerous fiction and non-fiction opportunities, and to this day I still thank God for using my bad back as the catalyst to fulfilling one of my greatest passions!  â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹
